So...

Another update...
Last friday, the hospital board met and reviewed all of the cases that came through the hospital last month including mine. I was approved for the surgery and the next step in the process is to order the actual device. What I am getting is the Nucleus 5 in a beige color and brown external cord part (the part that sticks onto the magnet under my skin). so hopefully, they won't be that visible, but i did order some really cool cover slips for the hearing aid part of it... one of them is a zebra pattern and the other is a orange tropical pattern, so it would be a fun thing to dress the aid up for parties and any crazy times.

But anyways, the hospital is ordering the device, and it should take about 1-2 months for them to receive it after having insurance authorize it and all that financial stuff. I cannot schedule my surgery until they receive the device, which won't be until between April 8th until May 8th... too long to wait! And i had hopes to get the surgery the week of May 24th or so, within those few weeks. So hopefully it won't be too hard to get it scheduled in a short notice... I want it done asap after school is over because the recovery period is a month, and i have vacation plans in the middle of july... it wouldn't be that much fun hearing out of one year when im on my favorite vacation of the year. I go camping in Boothbay Harbor every summer and i look forward to it all year.

Anyways, that's the update. If for some reason they'll let me schedule it before the device arrives, i'll let you all know asap! For now, don't expect too many updates unless some questions arise and i feel compelled to make this understandable to everyone. Feel free to ask anything.
